Bye-bye Catalina… Hello Ubuntu 20.04!

As you may have read in one of my previous posts, I recently bought an used MacBook Air from Mid-2012. I was searching for a cheap laptop to use with Linux Ubuntu. However, the cheap laptops were too bad (only 4Gb Ram, Intel Celeron microchips, 64Gb Disk, plastic construction, annoying keyboards…), and to get a more decent machine I have no choices under 500 euros.

When I saw this MacBook Air on eBay, I didn’t think twice, and I jump into it. At least I will have 8GB Ram, 128Gb Rom, a second gen i5, and a real decent construction, light weight, and… a little less annoying keyboard (but at least it is backlit).

As I need Linux Ubuntu for some academic work, and because MacBook Air from Mid-2012 is no longer receiving OS updates (last update was Catalina), I decided to full replace MacOS with Ubuntu instead of dual boot (as I had in my MBP till very recently).
